第六堂课:《儿童世界中的玩与激励》
A Child’s world, what makes them tick?

好的今天我们来探索 孩子们的世界
alright in this chapter, let’s explore in a child’s world

为什么他们有这样的行动, 是什么刺激他们
what makes them tick, what’s motivate them

是什么让他们想要听您的
what makes them want to listen to you 

就像销售员的世界
just like in a salesperson world, sales prospect

那佣金, 金钱,吸引销售员
commission, money, that attracts salesman 

那么孩子呢?
how about a kid?

至于孩子, 他们需要的是
when it comes to a kid, the power of fun enjoying themself 

享受欢乐的力量
having so much laughter that makes them tick

这才可以使他们深深被你的教学吸引
that makes them want to get stuck to whatever you are teaching

您做的任何事,他们都想要做因为有趣
whatever you are doing they want to follow you, so fun 

我有一个例子, 大约8年前
I want to bring up an example about 8 years ago

我有位个学生从柔佛过来
this student who have come down all the way from Johor

他听说我可以很神奇的教会学生游泳
he heard that I can do miracle for swimming student

当他到达这里时我觉得
so when he came all the way to here I felt

哇 为什么要特地从柔佛过来学游泳呢
woah why do you need to come all the way from Johor to learn swimming

过后他才发现到 “这没有想象中的那么容易”
then he start to realise “is not as easy as I thought”

当他到达时,他有6个兄弟姐妹
when the moment he arrived here, he have 6 other siblings 

加上他是 7个
so including him is 7

当他到达时已经换了泳裤
when he arrived here he is already in his swimming trunk

但是他跟他的爸爸闹脾气
but he was very angry with his father

告诉他爸: “我不想学游泳了 ,
he told his father “I don’t want to learn swimming, 

我讨厌游泳,为什么带我来这里,我不要”
I hate swimming, why do you bring me here, no I don’t want”

他很生气的拿起他脚下的拖鞋
he got so angry he take his slipper from his leg

然后开始拍打他父亲的脸
and start beating his father in the face with slipper

看到此刻我感到非常的愤怒
I got so angry, I got so agitated 

我知道这是个不简单的案例
but then i start to realise, this is not an easy case 

我知道我必须改变一些的策略
but I think I need to change little bit of strategy 

他的爸爸以交付学费让我教他的孩子
so in the end instead of teaching him that’s what the father paid me for 

不如让我来教他兄弟姐妹游泳
the father paid me to teach him swimming, the other kids that can swim 

因此我改变了我的策略
so I change my strategy by saying 

”好的你们6个一起学, 我们来玩一些游戏“
“Ok all 6 of you lets learn swimming together, let’s play a little”

最终,我教这学生剩余的6个兄弟姐妹
so in the end instead of teaching that boy 

来替代教导这一个学生
I teach the other 6 of the brother and sister

从基本的学起, 我们玩些游戏
so we start the basic, we play some games

我们互相教导对方,玩一些小型比赛
we teach each other, we have some mini competition

我们玩得有声有笑
and we make so much laughter and fun 

过程中我发现他一个人在咯咯笑
that i caught him start giggling together

我就问到 ”您要学吗?“
so I ask him do you want to learn? 

他回答 ”不“ 他还有强烈的身体语言
No (the boy respond) he still have that hard body language 

表示着 我不要学,我不要
no i don’t want to learn, nope not me 

那么我就继续跟他的兄弟姐妹玩得开心
then I keep continue having fun with the brother and sisters 

当我们全部人正玩得开心时 我看了他一眼
and everytime when we laughs I look at him

最终他的兄弟尝试说服他
eventually the brother and sister also help to persuade him 

到最后他彻底被说服了 ”好吧, 我试试“
and eventually he manage to say “ok, try”

我让他参与一起玩, 一起享受
and I got him to be involve have some fun, enjoy himself 

到最后变成我们是1对1的教学
and eventually it turn into his own personal one to one class

想都没想到, 就这样变成了1对1
which we didn’t realise, it slowly transition into a one to one class 

所以其实一件事有很多解决方案
so end of the day there are many ways

与其喊骂,强迫,
instead of scolding, forcing, I could have just 

不如直接把他丢下水(可能也会遭遇到鞋子打在我脸上)
pull him into the water even I might even get the slipper at my face as well 

但是有时我觉得 ”好玩“ 比喊骂还更强大
but I think sometimes fun is way more powerful than scolding

比起强迫更有效
way more fun than force, way more effective 

所以尝试寻找如何让学生享受上课过程的方式
so find ways about how do we get students enjoy

当学生在学习您想教导他的东西
while they are learning what you want to teach them 

其中一个我们会做的事是陪他们玩很多的游戏
one of the things we do is we play a lot of games with kids 

比如说我要他们在水里憋气更久
let’s say I want them to put their face in the water longer

我希望他们可以随机应变
I want them to be able to adaptable

每当沉水时都可以憋气
everytime I bring their face in the water you can hold your breath 

或呼气,就是不要吸气
or you can blow, but don’t breath in 

以替代要求学生下水练习憋气
so instead of getting them to go down a long time

我创造了一个活动叫骑龙
I create this thing call dragon ride

学生骑在我背上就像在骑着一条龙
so I get them to hold me on my back as if they are riding a dragon 

我就猛烈的在水里游上游下
then I go up and down violently and just swing anytime

在没有通知的情况下进行潜水, 学生都非常享受这个活动
go up and down without warning and they enjoy themself

我分阶段的进行, 开始我会比较慢
I phase myself, in the beginning we do it slow 

当学生越来越兴奋他们开始欢呼大笑
when they get more and more excited when they start laughing 

我就慢慢的提高速度,学生都非常
then I got a bit faster eventually you can see that 

享受这项活动, 他们都没有发现这其实是一堂课
they really enjoy themself and without even saying its a lesson 

学生都很期待这项活动
they just look forward to the game itself 

所以尝试使用游戏或故事
so find what are the ways to create games

的方式来教学
and storytelling is also a good thing 

制造一个梦幻世界给他们
create a fantasy world for them

一个例子是
one of the example is 

我要他们跳水但是学生害怕
when I want them to jump into the water and they are so afraid 

他们犹豫 ”我可以吗“ ”可能不行“ ”好像不行“
they are hesitating “should I” “should not” “should I”

我就说想象有坏人追着您
so I said lets imagine there is a bad guy chasing you 

这坏人叫手指先生, 他往您追着
and this is called Mr.Fingers running towards you 

他就快抓到您了但是他不会游泳
and is about to catch you but Mr.Finger cannot swim

您该怎么办
so what do you need to do

来跳下水逃跑游出去
let’s jump into the water, drop down let’s swim away

就这样学生自己跳水了
and that actually get them to jump

为了给学生再尝试多一次
I said let’s try that again, lets see again 

如果还有一个坏人您可以更快的跳水吗
if there is another bad guy can you jump faster

学生就开始以奔跑方式跳水
then he start running and jumping, so eventually 

最终以2 到3个要求学生现在会跳水了
with just 2 or 3 request they can just jump into the water

甚至还要玩更多
and he keeps wanting more

尝试探索, 有什么故事有什么游戏
so explore, what are the story telling what are the games 

可以利用在您的教学上
that you can incorporate to what you want to do 

特别是当学生觉得害怕或是
especially when it’s scary, when its something that’s 

“啊我不喜欢, 我讨厌”
“ahh I don’t like this, I hate this”

以玩的方式来吸引学生
use fun, that attracts kids 

您的下一个功课
so for your next homework 

我要您想一个运动
I would like you to try think about an exercise 

一个您希望学生可以做的运动
and exercise that you want them to do 

当来到活动是一件累和会出汗的活动
by the way when it comes to exercise is tiring it’s sweaty 

尝试把这个运动换成一个游戏
its difficult but try to make an exercise into a game 

这是您的功课, 在看下个影片前先尝试这个功课
that’s your assignment, I want you to try before watching the next video 

尝试使用家里的椅子, 咪路包装水, 玩具等
try explore creating a theme park, creating an obstacle course

来制造一个主题乐园,障碍路线
using chairs, using milo packet, using toys you have at home

让孩子越过这些路线, 让他们活动
creating an obstacle course your kids have to go through and play 

您将会开始发现简单的活动也可以让他们出汗运动
and start to realise you can actually get them to sweat, exercise 

孩子还可能想要更多
and they still enjoy it and want more
