第四堂课:《愤怒与教育》
Anger & Education

这堂课我们来聊 ”教育上的愤怒“
alright the next chapter we will look into “the anger in education”

您有试过在教导过程中
have you ever tried to teach somebody something and 

您感到,你感到愤怒
you get frustrated and you get angry

直到不想继续教学
eventually don’t feel like teaching anymore

其实谈到愤怒, 是有个很好的原因
when it comes to anger there is a good reason for it 

对我而言, 我有11年的教导经验
personally for me, I have been teaching for 11 years

不过头 3 到4 年教学时我发现自己时常对学生发脾气
and my first 3 to 4 years I caught myself being angry at the student

我也发现自己一直在责备我的学生
and I realize I was blaming the student 

因为我发觉是因为学生迟到了
I realize it was that person being late

他对游泳没兴趣
he is not interested in swimming there is no heart in it

他的家长没有给予他足够的鼓励
the parents are not encouraging him enough 

不管怎样就是我会想要责怪他们
there are so much to blame I have a whole list to blame 

全都是他们的问题,不是我的问题
when someone else is having that problem instead of me

可当我慢慢开始发现到很多时候
but then when I start to realize when I have frustration when I have anger

我发怒,遇到挫折时,都不是学生所造成的
there are many times is not caused by that student itself 

这可能是我和我的伴侣之间争吵而引起的
it could be caused by an argument I had with my spouse 

也可能是我对刚才的学生不满而引起的
it could be an incident I was very unhappy with the previous student

然后把这愤怒的情绪带给下一堂课的学生
and I carried that anger and pass it to another student

我也发现到当我带着愤怒的心情教学
I also caught myself realizing that whenever I have anger and I start teaching 

所有学生的学习速度比起
everyone all the student is learning a lot slower 

激励语气教学的人慢得多
than someone who has been teaching in a more encouraging tone 

我了解到了这是个很大的差别
where I enjoy themself so much, it’s a huge difference 

当学生在学习时因你莫名的愤怒而
and I start to realize when people are performing under pressure

承受了不必要的压力
unnecessary pressure because of your anger

因为学生不想令你失望,当你伤心时,
because they hate to disappoint you they are very unhappy 

他们也会感到很伤心,这导致学生的学习速度变得非常慢
when you are unhappy, it’s very hard for them to pick it up

因为大多的时间学生都在想
because half of their mind is thinking about 

“哇 如果我又惹老师生气怎么办”
“woah what if the teacher is angry at me again”

“我不想再被处罚了”
“I don’t want to get punished again”

而不是再想着方案,
instead of thinking the formula

我必须做1,2,3,4,5,他们开始想
>i need to do 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, they started thinking 

“我担心。。” “我怕。。” 而导致进展慢
“what if this” “what if that”, it makes it a lot more unproductive

所以我开始发现耐心不只是一个人格,
so when i start to realize, actually patient is not just a personality

它是让你的教学更有效率的必要策略
it’s a necessary strategy in order for you to be effective in what you do

当您越有耐心您就会越愿意花时间解释
the more patient you are the more you take your time to explain

你会使用更多的爱与关怀来教育,而不是发泄
the more you teach with love and care instead of venting out

这样你就会发现学生学习的速度更快了
you realize students learn a lot faster and you in return

而你会获得满足感。因为您的学生学得快
you get the satisfaction because they pick things so fast 

学生也学得愉快,您也教得轻松
and they enjoying themself you are enjoying yourself

每当您感到挫败时
so think about whenever you have frustration

每当您生气时, 您需要找出事情的起因
whenever you have anger, think about what’s happening

对我而言,我相信 当您感的生气和烦躁时
to me, I believe that when you have anger and frustration 

通常是因为你对那个课题不太了解
is often because you don’t know the subject well enough

因为当您不太了解那课题时,有时您会觉得
if you don’t understand the subject so well, sometimes you feel that 

就这样罢了,但是为什么您做不到
it’s just doing that, but why can’t you do that

所以当您开始重复又重复的使用同一个单词时
so if you start to repeat again and again on the same choice of word

就算重复了10次学生还是一样不了解
the student wouldn’t understand even you repeat 10 times

所以第一,可能是从之前发生的来源所传下来的
so one it could be passing down a source from an earlier thing 

使到您生气
that cause you to be angry

第二个来源是当您不了解课题
second source is because you don’t understand the subject well enough

教导过程中使到自己爆发与沮丧
then you burst out, you get frustrated 

“啊 是学生不了解”
“ah, it’s the student they don’t understand”

当您不了解某些东西时
so every time when you don’t understand something

对我而言,我发现一个好的策略就是把我学生变成老师
for me, i find what is a good strategy is to turn my student into my teacher

很多次我告诉我的学生
there are many times I just tell my students

我正在尝试了解为什么您做不到
I’m not sure why you couldn’t move I’m still thinking

我知道肯定不是您的踢法,至于您的手我就不清楚
I know it’s not the way you kick, I’m not too sure about the hands

我希望您可以踢到这样,但是我不懂该怎么跟你解释
but if you could kick it this way, maybe I couldn’t explain this to you 

给我一点时间让我思考怎么解释<
give me some time to think about it

当您进到这种模式您会发现学生会说
when I go into that mode I start to realize sometimes the students will say

“老师您的意思是说脚要像果冻这样游?”
”do you mean by the legs must be a jelly?”

我说到 ”呃, 我从来没有这样解释过,很有趣, 您尝试一下“
then I said “hey I never said it in that way, interesting. Try”

就这样突然学生变成了老师
then suddenly my students become my teacher

因为他们对单词的选择对他们来说很容易理解
because their choice  of word is something very easy for them to understand

一些您从未想过的用词
but I have never used that choice before 

就这样您开始收藏不同方式来解释同样的东西
from there I start to accumulate many ways of saying the same thing 

就像憋气
just like holding your breath 

如果教学生憋气但是还有气泡出来
if you ask somebody to hold their breath and bubble is still leaking out

如果您缺乏词语选择,您将会说
if you lack of choice of words you will say 

“来,憋气,来憋气”
“hold your breath, come on hold your breath”

重复说了3次
while repeating saying hold your breath of 3 times

但是学生还是不能理解
the students will still not be able to get it

所以尝试探索其他词语选择比如
so try to explore other choices of word like 

停止呼吸不要让气进去或出去
stop breathing into don’t breath in don’t breath out

尝试捏着鼻子, 进水前憋气
try pinching your nose, try holding your breath before even going into the water 

有好多不同方式的说法
there is so many varieties of ways they do

尝试以不同的说法来解释同一个东西,这是您的功课
just do and explain the same thing, try that as you exercise

当您开始教学时, 注意您的情绪
whenever you start teaching something, be aware of your anger

当您发现有愤怒的情绪, 暂停
if you have certain anger certain frustration, pause

我可以告诉学生我不太了解这个部分吗?
can I just tell the student I don’t really understand this

我仍在努力寻找方法,可能需要一些时间
I am still stumbling to find a way maybe need some time 

我去做一点研究再回来跟你讲
to do research and get back to you

这样做事没问题的反而有时学生会主动来帮你
it’s ok to do that and sometimes the students will help you 

帮您找到一些新的词语选择
in helping you to teach better through new choice of words

来解释新的东西
through new way to explain things

重点回顾

当学生因你莫名的愤怒而承受了不必要的压力
when students are performing under unnecessary pressure because of your anger

他的学习速度将变得缓慢。
their learnings will be much more slower.

耐心不只是一个人格
Patients is not just a personality

它是让教学更有效率的必要策略。
 it is a necessary strategy in order to be effective.

当您感到生气和烦躁时
When you have anger and frustration

通常是因为你对那个课题不太了解。
is often because you don’t know the subject well enough.

当您不了解某些东西时,把学生变成老师.
When you don't understand something, turn your student into my teacher

他们会提供你他们更加容易明白的用词。
They will provide you choices of words that are easier for them to understand.
