第三堂课:《高效学习的障碍》
What’s distracting ourselves from maximising our learning

是什么阻止了我们或我们的学生
what’s limiting us or what’s limiting our students 

发挥他们的潜能
from maximizing their potential

很多时候,我们在学着一些东西
many times when you are learning somethings 

我们不是缺乏技能
we are not actually lack of skills

我们缺乏的是自信,缺乏自我相信
what we lack of is self-confidence, lack of self-belief

缺乏这些都来自于负面的自我思考
so what feels this self believe is negative self-thought

打个比如,”我不可以,就是不可以,我害怕“
for example, “I cannot, I just can’t, I’m too afraid”

我现在学游泳太迟了,我老了
I‘m too old already at my age who learn swimming at this time

这些负面的自我思考的形成
all these negative self-thoughts is the thing that

缓慢了我们学习的效率和节奏
actually slows our learning process down 

会缓慢的原因是因为当我们教导一个课题时
why does it slows down because when we teach a subject

很多时候学生把焦点都放在配方
there are many times students spend only half of their focus on the formula

比如在游泳中浮出水面喘气时
let’s say for example coming up for air

学生需要往前看,呼气,胸往下才能呼吸
they have to look front, blow, breast down and they can breath 

本来应该想着方式,头往下,呼气,往下按
so instead of thinking for the formula look down, blow, press down 

学生想着 ”其实做得到吗”
they thinking “can do this or what”

“都那么多次做不到了, 我不觉得我做得到”
“just now I fail many times already, I don’t think im good for this”

大半的时间都在想着他们做不到什么
so half of their mind is focusing more on what I cannot do 

使到他们注重在什么拉倒他们而不是注重于那方案
things that can bring themself down rather than focus on formula 

身为一位老师,很多时候您必须阻止学生的自我怀疑
so as a teacher there are many times you have to call out their self doubt

您必须阻止学生有的一系列负面的自我思考
you have to call out any negative self-thought they have

比如说, 我告诉学生
for example, I just tell my students 

“你是不是在想着如果失败了很多次那可能这个不适合您”
“are you currently thinking that if you fail many times and this is not right for you”

“是否想过太难,使到您觉得永远做不到”
“do you think that this is too difficult and you can never do this” 

有时我们需要冷读(看透)我们的学生
so sometimes when we cold read the students 

如果被讲中了其中的负面思想
and it hits one of the negative self doubt, hits what they are saying

学生会开始点头赞同 这时,您可以告诉学生把专注力
and they start nodding their head that’s when you can tell them to focus

放在方案
focus back on the formula

“您现在要做的是往前,呼气”
“all you need to think about is front, blow breath”

“会花一些的时间, 不过没问题很少人第一次就做对的”
“it’s gonna take a long time, it’s okay nobody gets it the first time”

“所以您只需尽最大的努力去做”
“so just do your best focus on what you need to do”

“而不是专注在您做不到的事”
“rather than focusing on what you cannot control”

所以老师指出学生自我怀疑的想法,是很重要的
so is very important for a teacher to address the self-doubt 

告知他们那些负面的想法
address the negative self-thought

尝试威吓一下他们
try to intimidate as much as possible

其中一个方式是我一直提醒他们的成就
one of the formula I like to use is to remind them of their achievement

他们所做过的事情
what they have already done

刚刚您不能浮上水面深呼吸两次
just now you couldn’t even come up for air twice 

现在可以了,那是一个好的开始
now you can do two times already that’s a good start 

两次好,就算一次也好
two is good even one is good

之前您连把脸放入水里都不能,但现在您能了
earlier you can’t even put your face down in the water now you can

提醒他们过去的成就
remind them of their past achievements 

早期,您不能憋着气10秒钟
earlier you cannot hold for breath for 10 seconds 

现在您能屏着气30秒
now you can hold for 30 seconds

所以,当您提醒他们关于他们的成就时
so when you remind them of their achievement, 

更多的自我怀疑就会被推到一边
more self-doubt start to push aside

他们会专注在:“哦,其实我可以,我只需再尝试,失败几次就能明白了
they focus “oh I actually can I just need to fail few more times before I get it”

所以,提醒他们过去的成就,让他们再次专注在方案
so remind them of their past achievement, refocus them on the formulas

尝试不要一直抓住他们常犯的错误
try not to catch them too much on things that they are constantly doing wrong 

但关注在于他们做对的事情上
but catch them on things they are doing right then you can say

然后您就能说:“您只需做那缺乏的点”
“all you need to do is you are missing this part”

“您需要向前看了,已经呼气了“
“you already look forward, you already blow”

“刚才您应该往下推而不是往旁边推”
” just now instead of pushing down, you were pushing to the side”

“所以您只需往下游,您就会明白了”
“so just move down and you will get it already”

当您变得如此的鼓舞人心,学生就不会感到压力
so when you are that encouraging, students don’t have the pressure 

他们会在自己的进展与面临到的过失有所好感
they feel very good progressing, they feel very good failing 

第一次没办法做到正确,但他们还能在首5次内抓到技巧
not getting right the first time they will be getting right the first 5 times 

当他们被鼓励时,您会看到他们进展得很快
you can see they progress very quickly when they are very encouraging 

所以,这是这堂课的策略
so action plan for this class

我也想让您想想自己的负面想法
I would like you to think about what is your negative self-thought

如果您发现到自己尝试的新事物的同时
if you have or  when you are trying something new and you catch 

您发现到自己说了一些阻碍自己的话,
something you say to discourage yourself, 

我要您把它写下
I want you to write it down 

写得越多,您就会更了解自己
the more you write it down, the more you understand yourself better 

然后我们也要将它放在一旁,继续专注在方案
and we can put it aside and focus on the formula

您需做的是,看回(反思)自己说过的话
all you need to do is just that, just look at what are the things

“我是否太老了,是否太慢了,是否太迟学习了?”
that you are saying “am I too old, am I too slow, am I learning it too late”

把这种种对您自己的疑惑写下来
write it down whenever you have certain doubts about yourself 

然后再看看我们下堂课的策略
then we look into the actions plan for our next classes

阻止负面的自我思考的方案
Ways to to call out negative self-thought

(一)指出学生自我怀疑的想法。
Address the self-doubt that students are thinking.

(二)提醒他们过去的成就和他们所做过的事情。
Remind them of their past achievement and what they have already done.

(三)关注他们做对的事情上,提醒他们缺乏的部分。
Catch on things they are doing right and remind them on the missing part.

(四)提醒学生把专注里放在方案,而不是在做不到的事上。
Remind them to focus on the formula, rather than what they cannot control.
